Charutar Arogya Mandal (CAM) is the outcome of a dream cherished by the late Dr. H. M. Patel. He envisioned building an institution that would address a long-felt need for a faculty of medicine—an aspiration many believed was unlikely to succeed.
Undeterred, he pursued this vision with the same missionary zeal and dedication that defined his work in shaping Vallabh Vidyanagar. What began as a bold idea has today evolved into a comprehensive ecosystem of healthcare and education.
CAM now manages a National Medical Council-recognized medical college, a 1000-bed National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) accredited tertiary care multi-specialty hospital, a school of nursing, a college of physiotherapy, and institutes of medical technology and allied health sciences. The campus also houses a cancer centre with a bone marrow transplant unit, a dedicated cardiac centre, a 102-bed state-of-the-art critical care facility, a comprehensive diagnostics centre, and a centre for public health studies—all within a well-developed, lush green 100-acre campus.
